Following Jesus

1]  Use clipart arrows/road signs to create a 'course' for children & parents to follow with their clipart cars.

2]  Do the conga, following one another in a line. You can download "Do the conga" in mp3 format by Black Lace from http://www.mp3search.ru/album.html?id=12466

3]  Play a type of "Simple Simon Says" game with children & parents: touching their own noses/knees/ears etc with their fingers; being like a cat/elephant/dog etc

4]  Trace and cut out their feet on card, ( adults and children ? ) at least one left and one right foot each. Colour in with their name on. Put them on the ground so they look like they are walking. Maybe compare the sizes of feet!

5]  Read Matthew 4:18-22 from the Good News Bible or a children's Bible, see also Luke 5. If you have this on video/DVD, like the Visual Bible play this.

7]  Today's theme is linked to the letter 'F'. Maybe put on a piece of paper and show. Following. Feet. Fish. Forsake ( in the case of the fishermen )

8] Conclusion:

Here's something for our heart : Jesus calls us to follow Him today.

Here's something we can pray: Thank you Jesus that you called the fishermen to leave everything and follow you. Please help us to follow you in our lives today. Amen.
